PPMA Show, 25-27 September 2018, NEC, Birmingham The PPMA was established in 1987 with the aim of holding their own trade show. 30 years later the PPMA Show remains the flagship event in the machinery supply calendar attracting close to 8,000 visitors and over 350 exhibitors. Showlite have been the preferred event contractor since the beginning and for the 2018 edition of the show were also appointed to design and build the key event features. The brief was to provide a strong brand identity for the PPMA Group of Associations including PPMA, UKIVA and BARA and unify and bring together the key feature areas on the floor plan. The key feature areas included The Enterprise Zone, host to a series of educational features including live workshops, presentations, interactive discussions, question and answer sessions and panel debate covering key topical issues and industry trends. The Zone also needed to incorporate opportunities to network with dedicated meeting areas as well as a Start-up Ambassador Programme featuring a helpdesk hosted by specialist knowledge experts. The VIP Lounge, a networking environment for VIP guests containing a range of seating areas and a dedicated meeting room. The area also needed to host the Media Village, a display of magazines from the show partners and supporters. Tracey Martin, Head of Custom Build, at Showlite commented: “We are already the main exhibition contractor at PPMA and we were delighted to have the opportunity to design and build high-impact, design-led features. The brief was to unify the show with the wider PPMA Group of Association, and deliver a series of eye-catching and practical feature areas to support the networking, meetings and content taking place. We worked closely with the PPMA team and came up with the distinctive blue and orange colour scheme which we used across all the features. We were really pleased with the final results and have had excellent feedback.” David Harrison, Group Event Manager, PPMA commented: “We’ve worked with Showlite for over 30 years so we knew we were in a safe pair of hands. 2018 was an important milestone for the show and the association and we wanted to showcase a strong brand identity across the group as well as deliver a quality customer experience. We were delighted with the final result and have had excellent feedback from visitors and exhibitors who participated in the educational sessions and relaxed in the VIP lounge. “I’ve said it before but the people are just exceptional. They are great team players, focus is on service delivered with a hands-on, can do attitude. I wouldn’t work with anyone else!” • PPMA takes place from the 1-3 October 2019 at the NEC www.ppmatotalshow.co.uk. Contracted space is already 95% of total stand sales in 2018 the biggest PPMA to date • Showlite will once again be the primary event contractor providing a full range of services www.showlite.co.uk
MAFKA is a major player in the Russian grocery market and wanted to use their presence at Food & Drink Expo to showcase their brand and products to a European audience. Showlite tendered for the contract and were appointed to design and build a custom stand. Main objectives for MAFKA was to promote the product range: natural grains and pasta and to promote the MAFKA brand as a producer of natural products from Russia. Stand specifications were 33 sqm, 5.5m x 6m, 3 sides open. Tracey Martin, Head of Custom Build, at Showlite commented: “We are already the main exhibition contractor at Food & Drink Expo and we were delighted to win the contract to design and build an eye-catching stand for MAFKA. The brief was to create a presence for MAFKA based on their brand image but also to reflect MAFKA’s growing position as a leading producer in Western Europe. We have had great feedback from the team at MAFKA and look forward to working with them again.” MAFKA commented: “We would like to say thank you to Showlite for the smooth preparation to Food & Drink Expo 2018. Our stand had eye-catching and practical design and during the exhibition we received a lot of positive feedback from our visitors. Our business goal was to present our products and Showlite helped us to realize it in a perfect way. We especially appreciated the hard work and great support we received from Tracey Martin! Showlite won the contract to deliver contemporary and stylish feature areas to complement Fresh Montgomery’s Independent Hotel Show. We worked with the organiser and their design partners to create stunning features which were a real eye-catching attraction for visitors. From the thought provoking Gymnasium for the Mind, The Suite - a sumptuous space for VIP’s to relax and network, to the show highlight The Perfect Hotel Bedroom. Following the success of the features as a major visitor attraction, Fresh Montgomery retained Showlite to develop features areas for upcoming events in 2018 which also included La Parade des Chef and The Ultimate Dining Experience at Hotelympia. “Working with designers from the Hospitality Industry not the Exhibition Industry was challenging. However, with Showlite we formed a three way partnership to deliver end products that looked stunning, ticked the ‘quality finish’ boxes for the designers and ticked my boxes in terms of Build Up and Breakdown times. I must single out Tracey who attended our meetings, made suggestions and helped guide the designers to ‘less expensive’ options that still delivered their design. In fact the designer for The Perfect Hotel Bedroom recommended Tracey and Showlite to the designer for the Ultimate Dining Experience – a fantastic endorsement for their service, their understanding of what is required and the final exceptional delivery.” Janice Edmunds, Operations Director, Montgomery
Big Data LDN, November 2017, Olympia – 3rd Street Group For the second year running, Showlite were approached to develop a bespoke, design led solution including electrics, graphics, AV and furniture for exhibitors at Big Data LDN. We developed a distinct and tailored pod style solution which was adaptable for each client but retained a unified look and feel across the entire exhibition. The event was a huge success and is growing again and will be in Olympia West and Central for 2018 and we have, once again been retained to provide bespoke stand solutions. “Following an incredibly successful launch, Big Data LDN was back bigger and better in the Olympia West halls and I couldn’t be happier to have Showlite working with us again. We needed a more complex stand solution to accommodate exhibitor requirements and lift the overall design and Showlite have worked hand in hand with us, investing in design, stock and materials developing an innovative product for our customers” - Bill Hammond, MD, 3rd Street Group
