It's no surprise that technology was hot on the agenda at International Confex.
Two full days of content on the popular EventTech Theatre as well as an extensive range of companies on the show floor offering new products, innovations and emerging technologies all set to change the shape of events.
Facial recognition was a hot topic and the focus of a panel with experts from Zenus Biometrics, fielddrive, Livebuzz and the RAI Amsterdam talking about how the technology is being used more and more in events. From speeding up check-in to enhancing security and improving the visitor experience, we’re going to see this pop up at events in 2019.
Crystal Interactive also delivered an interesting talk on smart, wearable tech and how this innovation is reinventing the ways we interact and improve the event experience for the organiser and attendee.
Blockchain, VR, augumented reality, AI and IOT were many of the other buzzwords around the event and it will be interesting to see how these manifest themselves over the next few years and what tech – if any – will prove to be real game changers for the industry.
Nicola MacDonald, Editor, Exhibition News commented “As always International Confex was a hotbed of tech innovation, with exhibitors launching new and exciting products across the show floor and the Tech Theatre discussions tackling some of the disruptive technologies set to change the face of events in the years to come.”
With Primo the Talking Robots roaming the floor, virtual reality on stands and Facebook live streaming of key content sessions, it was good to see International Confex delivering on the experience.
