A warm welcome to ROBERT DAVIES who joined the team as Production Manager in June. He will be adding his own 30 years industry experience to an already very experienced team producing our Shell-scheme shows and features.
Robert started his career as an apprenticeship with Stanco Exhibitions in August 1985 and remained in his role with the company until the closure of their production facility in December 2014. During that time he learned many skills which have undoubtedly stood him in good stead for his subsequent roles as he moved through the ranks and was promoted. He held positions as a carpenter, Chargehand, Foreman, Manager, Director and shareholder! Earlier this year he held a managerial role within Stanco (now Freeman UK) based in the Midlands before finishing at the end of May.
Robert was keen to share with us the reasons for his move to Showlite: “ I’m really looking forward to working with my old colleagues of many years who have not only become my friends but have also joined the ambitious and growing team at Showlite.
Showlite is developing a fantastic team set-up and they have a vision of exactly where the business is going and how to achieve that success. I am also highly motivated by having the opportunity to contribute to the creation of the new Showlite Production facility from scratch in my home town (Rogerstone), whilst being closer to my family!
This is a great industry to work in. I have been very grateful to have met an amazing bunch of people during my exhibition career and I hold great memories of people past and present – some of whom are once again my colleagues - long may it continue”.
Thanks Robert!
