Showlite recently completed the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show on behalf of European Trade & Exhibition Services Ltd (ETES) at Farnborough, the largest event in our history within a temporary structure. We installed over 4,500m2 of shell scheme as well as providing full electrical services to both ETES and over 650 exhibitors, a total of over 2,000 fittings, heating and mains distribution.
Our client Phil Valentine, Managing Director, ETES takes up the story and puts his own perspective on an outcome that both met and exceeded his expectations for the delivery of a successful event:
"We chose Showlite as primary Shell, Electric and Furniture contractors for our flagship event, the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show, because I have worked with many of their personnel over the last 33 years and they are people I trust to uphold our high service standards and to treat the event as if it were their own.
This year was a particularly testing build up with interruptions due to Storm Imogen and the venue’s situation within a unique Airport location. Incredibly, and despite the many challenges, (not least being set back two days of build, including the whole day before show open! when no one at all could enter the Halls), without hesitating all Showlite contractor staff rose to the challenge and joined the organiser staff to work through the night to hit our 9.30am show open deadline.
To say a miracle was achieved is an understatement. While first in the queue to lay a bet that it wouldn’t, the show actually opened on time! Even exhibitor snag lists were the lowest I have ever witnessed and our clients received the highest levels of on site service and immediate response, despite incredible tiredness. It will remain one of the proudest moments in my exhibition life what was achieved in that 11 hours; I had never witnessed anything like it before and probably will never again.
My sincerest thanks go out to all Showlite staff who played an invaluable part in what seemed the impossible task. I know they all feel equally proud to have been involved and deservedly so. It goes without saying that I would not hesitate in recommending their services to others".
